Had an e-mail today from Rise Above about the 2016 Cavendish Sportive in North Wales. I replied back asking if the (IMO) faults with the organisation of the innorgural 2015 ride would be addressed (registration taking hours, poor feedstations, lack of advertised goodies at the end). I've had no reply so will not partake next year. I hope they do learn from this years event as it is nice to have a high profile event in my home town.

Nice website! Tells me Glasgow, Belfast and Norwich are close to me! Unless I am misreading the information all you are going to get at those venues is a three mile ride. You have to go to London for 25 or 50. Its pretty flat around the Velo Park so not much of a challenge. Still I suppose its all in a good cause.

Same here. Where is the spirit of adventure? Β£1,600 for a bog standard ride. If I was paying good money to be mollycoddled I'd at least be looking at Tibet or somewhere like that. "base camps" "iconic challenge" "challenge of a lifetime"

They'll probably do good business with the corporate Hooray Henries. The bankers need an outlet for their hard earned money. Team building session.

I reckon you could DIY it and eat at Michelin star restaurants every night for that money, although I'd plan a tour of Britain's finest curry houses and Italian restaurants .

Now that sounds like a good idea. Tour de Curry.

Me and my big mouth! It's an idea to play with, assuming I don't get into Ride London, it's maybe a loose idea to consider for late summer, but a good chunk after TdF, as I'm already off to France light touring for the depart (probably never happen though, as never get free of the day job enough to take big chunks off) .

I'm off on a magical mystery tour starting in Agadir (Morocco) in a few weeks. Don't know timescales or where I'll end up but it will start out as the Tour de Cous Cous. Very much open ended but if possible I'd like to do the Pamir Highway in the summer so the curry on that trip would be pretty authentic. Definitely one for the drawing board. The Yorkshire curry houses are superb. Yum Yum.
