Got a spd sl pedal query - on my ride today, for first half it felt like I was 'pedalling with my toes'?? On my left foot. I kind of guessed that meant I need to move the cleats on my shoes BUT on way back it happened with my right foot and my left was fine?!? Any tips??

you checked there not loose, do they match when you put bottom to bottom of the shoe?

Possibly saddle a bit high causing you to reach down to the pedals and maybe not sitting squarely?

Maybe you fastened your shoes differently for your way back, that too can make a difference. Try walking around a few steps before bending down and securing your straps, this will ensure that your foot is in the shoe correctly.
if you think that you feel like you are peddling on your does, that can cause quite a few issues, especially with the achilles tendon. A good idea (as long as your shoe's soles are quite stiff is to slide the cleat all the way backing the attachments and start from there.
