Hi
I got my ALUR at the back end of July last year. It's a lovely bike and although I've mainly just commuted on it, with a few afternoon rides here and there. It's performed admirably until the last couple of weeks. It started with a barely audible click from the bottom bracket, but over 2 weeks has progressed to what sounds like popping candy.
It had it's 'break in' service at about 200 miles and I recently had a full service done. I don't think I've done more than 1000 miles on it yet. So I have been looking after it, hence I'm a little miffed the bottom bracket is complaining. I'm about to take it in for my mechanic to take a look.
Has anyone else had any issues similar to this? Has anyone experience of claiming on the warranty for something like this?
Any comments welcome.
Thanks
Nath

If you can get it to a Dectahlon store to see what they make of it you never know. I had BB issues on my T3 after about 6 months. A single click per revolution that developed into multiple clicks on a ride round the Isle of Wight. They replaced the BB for free.

Unfortunately I bought it over the internet. I live in Cambridge and my nearest store is London. So not so easy for me to pop into the store. Hence, I wanted to do a bit do research first.

Mine has a slightly similar issue - will need to take it into the Harlow store as I have the London to Brighton ride on Sunday!

COuld just be getting dirty and need a good clean and regrease, or need the bottom bracket replacing, they are a part that won't go forever.

Its good you have mentioned this. I to have an Alur 700 and although I have not had it for so long at all, I have completed 290 miles so far. I am sure recently I to have experienced a click/pop noise from the crank at some point. I could well be at the very beginning of your problems where you now have reached a point of frequent pops.
Should I go in and raise this with my Store? It sounds like Im in the early stages of what could be the same line of problems you are facing.
Please do advise. Regards J

I still think try taking the cranks and BB off clean, regrease and reassemble. wouldn't be a bad thing to do and may solve the problem.

do the cranks at least, that's probably more likely to get dirt anyhow (less to get through). Could take it in to get looked at, but I suspect a clean is what they'd do first.
