However, Tom W comes across as a bit of a 'bell end' in that article..............if you ask me?!

However, Tom W comes across as a bit of a 'bell end' in that article..............if you ask me?! I quite liked his response and his "room for everyone" attitude.

I have long suspected that Mossley is a secret training Mecca for cycling champions....

There was a report earlier this week of a cyclist being found with serious injuries on Buttertubs pass with police appealing for witnesses. Unfortunately the 50 year old man from Middlesborough has died. It looks like he came off descending northwards and was found 200m from the top of the pass. There is a bad left handed kink in the road there at the bottom of the first steep descent as it passes the buttertubs (in the article phot) so please take care if you head that ://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/middlesbrough-cyclist-dies-after-coming-10217111 The verdict is finally here I m.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/14446787.Cyclist_died_after_attempting_emergency_stop_on_notorious_Tour_de_France_route_decent/

A sheep would be the likely contender up there if it was animal related. I was chatting to a woman a few years back whose husband copped it while avoiding a sheep when dropping off the Trough of Bowland. I can imagine where that other chap went over the barriers. Hit that left hander by the buttertubs with too much speed and it must be pretty good odds. Nearly came a cropper myself once. The road camber combined with the sharp downhill bend gave the bike a proper wobble. After a hard climb it's very tempting just to let the bike fly on the descent but care is needed on that first drop.... oh and at the bottom of the fast straight getting towards the bottom too. www.strava.com/segments/4862867www.strava.com/segments/1346319

I saw this posted on drunkcyclist FB page. I think most of the readers have taken it way more seriously than it was originally intended.

Love it, sounds like my standard ride, without any 'rubbish' technology!

Always going to happen when there is a market for 'poseurs' ................and in cycling, there is a HUGE market!

Came down there with frozen claw hands in sleet/snow. Very scary.
