Just be aware that only the shifters and derailleurs are Ultegra 6800. Everything else is a mix of FSA, 105 and SRAM so bit of a misnomer calling it Ultegra.

Still more inclined towards the Alur 700. Decathlon is one mile away from me whereas Sheffield is 70 miles. It's my first bike so I'd feel better if anything goes wrong.

I think you've answered your own question. The Planet - X is a good price etc. I've never had any issues buying bits off them in the past. However from my experience the support from the local Decca store should be good especially with it on your doorstep and if it fails then customer services at Headoffice have generally sorted things out to get a solution. The Alur 700 is a great buy for the price.

I am very pleased with my Pro-Carbon,that came with full Ultegra, including crankset for Β£999.00 I reckon that is still very good value. The Alur 700 is a lovely bike too, probably not a lot in it.
I would say that the Alur will have the edge with the frame, is it Carbon?
*just seen Alur is not Carbon - depends if you really want a Carbon frame or not. I would say that I reckon B'twin alloy frames are superb in their quality. Not sure there will be a massive difference between 105 and Ultegra, beyond bragging rights?!

For that price i would go with the Alur. The reason being the one you stated, Deca is much closer. Deca is 5 mins walk from my house so i can easily take the bike in whenever something goes wrong and i have taken it in a few times over the years i've had it and they've always been great and sorted me out. Planet X is 65 miles away for me if it was closer i think i might have got all the issues with my N2a sorted out a lot quicker. Plus i think i'd rather go for the full 105 rather than a mix of parts.
I suspect these PX bikes are going cheap as they're using up all the remaining Shimano stock as they no longer deal with them.

As a first bike, I think I'd pick the Alur, I'd be more happy coming off an Alu bike, at least resulting faults should be visible.
Also, the Decca customer service being a mile away for a first bike is probably worth Β£100 at least. And you'll have Β£200 more to buy nicer other kit (and there's a fair bit).

Yes, apparently Shimano now want PX to pay upfront for all stock rather than on 90 days, they also want them to pre order their stock so basically order now for what they want in a couple of months.
Or something along those lines....Thats what i was told anyway.
EDIT: maybe not pay upfront but its the same kind or thing, they'll have paid for stock before they get chance to sell it sort of thing.
