My HTC Sensation is on it's last legs, so I'm after a new phone for Christmas. I'm having a hard time deciding what to go for though. It's between the Galaxy S4 on PAYG and the Galaxy S5 on contract.
I would be taking advantage of Vodafone's Black Friday offer if I went for the S5. £22.50 a month for 24 months, with the phone for free. The only thing putting me off (besides the fact that I'm not sure I use my phone enough to justify spending £540 over 2 years) is that it's with Vodafone. So is anyone else (preferably in the Midlands area) on Vodafone? What has your experience with them been like? Both coverage-wise and if you've had to deal with their customer service.
My other (more likely option) is an S4 on PAYG/Sim-free. I really only want some data each month so I'd order myself a new Sim from EE and take advantage of their "100mb free data a month" offer. I'm basically on EE already (technically with T-Mobile, but phone always says EE) so I know what their coverage is like.
Cheers guys

I have the moto g 2nd generation. It does everything you need and has a great spec and the battery has no problems running strava, plenty of juice left after a 4 hour ride. You can get them from argos sim free for £150. Its also due to get android 5 (lollipop)

I got the same for my kids £125 from Tesco. Then a £7.50 per month contract.

Thanks guys but really looking for something with a bit more oomph. Settled on a Sim-free Galaxy S4 and will swap from T-Mobile over to EE PAYG. £1 a week for 100mb plus an extra 100mb a month free. Will be more than enough for me. Battery life is supposed to be good, not that I'll be running Stava on it, or even taking it on rides. Planning to stick an old sim card into my Sensation and I'll carry on using that for when I'm out on the bike.

I was very tempted by that deal but I just don't use my phone enough to justify it. I can make £10 on PAYG last 6 months....

Totally - if you use it that little then no point doing contract!
