So... I have the 51 vrame, I am small It has bottle bosses on the vertical tube, but looking at it, I cant help thinking if I buy a bottle cage, it will be so close to the top tube that any bottle or accessory wont be able to be gotten out of the cage... So.... I am wrong? Or are those bosses only suitable for a pump attachent? Or is there another nice accessory I can pop on there? Or maybe a different bottle cage? Or is it just the fact the shove them on anyway even though the smaller frame makes em useless?? I just see the bosses and think... somat should go on those. Alex

I have an Elite bottle cage on my 51 frame vertical tube, but rarely use it. It is a bit tight to get a bottle in, and I don't think I could do it while riding along, but you could certainly put a second bottle in and then just swap it over with the other when it's empty. That's what I do.

You can buy sideways entry bottle holders and also buy smaller water bottles if necessary.

Doing the swap-routine is certainly the way I would look to do it. Thanks again Alex

Can't answer your question but I do offer a solution. How about a side loading bottle holder?

@alexjm am I missing something....? You already have a Decca bottle cage and want another to match... Why not just move the one you already have to the seat tube then you will know if its suitable?

Yes youre missing something but only because I didnt include it with my question above. My bike is at work and im at home looking after poorly son (flu) and my colleague is putting in a Decathlon order today so I have a chance at free postage Well spotted though.

Going off pictures I would assume it would be fine, but couldn't say for certain.

Thanks Steph and thanks again everyone. I think I am going to go for a non-matching side-entry cage so I dont have problems. Thus dont need to add a cage to current Decathlon order.
Thanks very much everybody. Alex
