Also mentions that they've sold out until the Spring!
Makes my post-purchase dissonance calm down a bit...

My Triban 500se was free delivery as was my friends 300, both bought in last 2 months.
Still have to say the Merlin bike looks awesome and amazing value.

Also mentions that they've sold out until the Spring! ... I'm not surprised its sold out, it looks like a great starter bike and then beyond.

OK...own up, which one of the members is working at Merlin and given them the inside track? On paper this seems to cover a lot of the minor issues with the original T3. Gone are the thumb shifters, much bigger clearance for tyres, some people struggle with the triple set up and the 34 front 30 rear will be very similar to the gearing the T3 came with. Shimano crank to replace the duce (I think that this is what it is called). Better wheels (probably with some grease I suppose a lot of us over the years have bought some upgrades from Merlin (I think my crank and wheels came from them), so they probably know a bit about the Triban. Oops, before someone else comes in, I know....it should have been red! Someone has given it a 4/5 review on their site for an uncomfortable saddle, what would you expect with this spec at £300. Oh well. I liked the thumb shifters!

I liked the thumb shifters! Me too. It's going to take me while to get used to the paddles on my new Cinelli. I am longing for some dry roads to give it a blast.
