A club member friend of was looking around at new bikes, recently on holiday in Torquey we visited a local bike shop, and was drawn to this: Carbon Frame, Ultegra Di2. 7.8 kilo. And yes it is as bright as you think. When he asked about a price, he instantly went to the bank and got his money from savings / spending money / overdraft. An unbelievable Β£1100 and Β£50 off that as he didn't need the pedals. It is a lovely bike, just reading up on it, it seems they were made as test bikes for UCI and press review. This one however was never ridden. More info here: cycle-art.co.uk/ultegra-di2-demo-bike/

Wow. Wouldn't have been a bad price for the group set alone. Bargain!

Now that's a bargain. Are those mountain bike pedals?

I'm sure that there will be some on shops now that are for sale, let the hunt begin!

I've red that shimano doesn't do any frame, but for his demo use frames from famous producers and repaint them... so, probably, the frame is a good quality one.
right size, very luky guy! Shimano Ultegra Di2 6870 11s groupset is about that price...
here in Italy that bike would be on sales in a shop not less than 3500euros like "special edition pro team".

I understand it is very efficient, but if you are not into races... It's hard to accept... an electronic device into the most perfect full mechanical tool on the planet... if you don't ride for some months that bike, do you have to change the battery? if the battery fail do you always need a replace with you? If the device fail you don't need pincers you need an engeneer? Even pro riders have some doubts: Nibali won the Tour with mechanical one, (the lonly in Astana Team... a lot of marketing imposed choises I think...) I've heard about wireless shifters in the next future....

Yep, really not for me. I'm sure it is far sweeter than the mechanical change, but I like simple things...........a bit like me! ;-)

Take the electronic stuff off the bike and sell them, then buy the Dura Ace mechanical set up with the funds raised. For that original price, i can't see you being out of pocket it all - insane bargain!

Yep, really not for me. I'm sure it is far sweeter than the mechanical change, but I like simple things...........a bit like me! ;-) In many ways, the electronics systems are simpler - no cables running inside housing, no tensioning, no danger of slip.

I'm very impressed, I'd have it if I had the money.
