So having taken the plunge , a week on I am enjoying the experience . Very pleased with the Alur, popped back in to death is morning to tweek the gears. First little cycle was a few miles to get used to changing gears handle position etc. second ride 9 miles , the two more rides at 13 miles each with one this evening at 50 mins. I am getting used to road bike speed down hill, but want a jet pack for the up hills . All in all I am looking forward to just getting out as much as I can and in time I hope my fitness will come .

I assume your phone changed deca to death - interesting.
no hoping about it, more riding will mean more fitness, but i dont think hills will ever get easy - i hope not!

Well done Teddy. Hills don't get easier but you might go up them faster.

Ah yes the old predictive text. I was pleased that I knocked off 4 mins on the same route , plus didn't need to stop , even had calf cramp at one point. I am now seeking so e routes with a few more flats so I can get used to picking up my own speed and maintaing it, not easy when it's all up and down .

I like your share on getting to know your bike, as has been said your fitness level will rise given a little time.
There is no limit to the hills around where i live, some days they are more challenging than others...VBG!

I know you said you collected your ALUR from Lakeside so believe you might be local? If so have some nice lumps round here to test your legs.

I'm actually in sussex , just outside haywards heath, I am possibly over egging the hill pudding , perhaps I am just a little delicate at this stage of my cycling .

I'm told that as/when we get fitter/lighter our definition of "hill" changes. I can't wait for my local "hills" to become "rolling countryside!"
