Hey all, just a quick post to let you know I'm back from holiday. Had a great time but definitely missed the bike. Apart from a short swim one day I did pretty much no exercise Well there was a lot of walking too but I don't count that. Eager to get back out on my bike, but not today and not in the rain. Hoping to get back to it tomorrow, will ease back into things and start off with shorter rides I think. I did lose at least 4 QOMs over the 2 weeks though so I expect I'll be heading towards those segments sooner rather than later
Had a great time, went to some places where, had it been a little cooler, I would have loved to cycle. With temps rarely below 32C it was too warm to be walking around, never mind cycling! Maybe one day, in the winter, I'll head back to a few places with my bike.
Now I'm going to catch up with the rest of the forum and see what I've missed

Welcome back Where did you go ? Lots of places. Eastern Med Cruise - Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos, Olympia, Venice, Dubrovnik, Ephesus, Athens and Split Nice. Did you see any of those cracking thunderstorms around there last week? (I was in Skiathos). It was the first time I've had to leave a greek beach due to rain last week. We had three or four downpours whilst we were there, they were mostly at night though.

There was one waiting for us when we arrived in Venice on the first day. (We started in Venice but got there too late to spend any time there, went back on the middle Saturday and also ended there yesterday.) Even a short run from the coach to the port terminal had us all looking like drowned rats. Heard the thunder, but didn't see the lightning. Was playing havoc with the street lights outside the airport, flickering on and off. Apart from that we didn't get any rain really. A bit on the first day at sea but otherwise it was all sun (and the heat to go with it, pushing the mid-40s while walking around Ephesus )
erictherat It was great, gorgeous indeed. Tbh I already had a tan before I went, though it did get topped up a bit. Almost got rid of the tan lines around my wrists that I had from my cycling gloves I tend to hide from the sun though, I'm really not one for laying on the beach/deck all day cooking myself. As for showing off my tan on the roads, hasn't been much of that. Yet to get back out on the bike, hoping to tomorrow though depends on the weather, don't fancy a ride in the rain really.
