I was on O2 for quite a long time and they always seemed fine, eventually their service got worse and worse and their 3G coverage that use to be very good where i live went poor, when i say poor the coverage was there but the 3G speeds slowed right down. I was told by a number of people their network is over subscribed and it can't cope.
I swapped over to EE and their coverage has been great so far and get some really fast download speeds on their 4G.

I'm on Vodafone with my works mobile and giffgaff (which runs on the O2 network) for my personal phone. I get the same coverage, call quality etc, with both networks.
Never used the customer service for O2 so can't comment on that side of things.

Also on O2 for both my PAYG phones. The local mast is constantly having issues which means I regularly get no signal unless I go upstairs in my house. Been looking at EE to move my S3 LTE onto once I've used up my credit. The other phone is an iPhone 3G locked on O2 so will have to stay until a replacement comes along. I don't do contract.

I was with O2 until my contract run out, now I'm with Three, who have a great deal on unlimited tariffs with free 4G. Not had any coverage issues.

Wife and kids are with Tesco Mobile, nice and cheap for 600 mins contracts. They use O2s network so coverage should be the same.

I was on O2 from the release of the iPhone 3G until last year. Initially no problems, but it then gradually started getting worse and slower, I blame the fact that all the little "good deal" PAYG networks are all using O2's network (Tesco, Giffgaff etc). Moved initially to T-Mob and now upgraded to EE 4G, been dry impressed with the coverage and at I could drive all the way fro Cheltenham to Liverpool without losing 3G (thankfully not making that journey anymore).

I'm with Tesco, so on O2 as well and I've also noticed the 3G slow down others have commented on. I ride a lot in the New Forest and 3G reception is very patchy there which is really annoying when trying to use Google Maps (though I gather it's possible to download maps for offline viewing so that may solve that issue). There are also some 3G dead-spots near home. I was with Three beforehand but 3G reception was worse in my local area back then.

Thanks all for your comments. The wife has gone with O2. I've got 2 week to wait for my contract to end so will see how the wife get on with hers.
