This is one thing that will have everyone attention - what to do if your bike is stolen? The common answer is the get insurance for your pride and joy. No my T7 may not come close to my Audi A4 or even the value of my home (emm can I replace the children? more docile versions will do Mr Insurance man ) but even so that is a lot of money and for some of use another child! What is your arrangement? I have my Home insurance with my bank Santander. It cost me an extra £2 per month. It covers theft at the house, commute and work place. I am also a member of BC mainly due to the third party insurance and the fact I can upgrade that to Silver for the sportive which I value more than CTC. So I think I am well covered. Note well been a member of BC or CTC does not cover theft. I can across many other insurance companies that do bike insurance and that number has increased since the Olympics so lots of options out there. So what's your cover or arrangement?

My bikes are insured on my house insurance. They are covered away from home, including accidental damage so if i fall off its all good. my Focus is over the magic limit and has to be declared. that cost me an extra £45 a year just for that bike, but was much cheaper than dedicated insurance.
Im also a BC member, on the Ride membership. That gives me third party cover. The Ride membership also gives cover for Sportives, but not racing (not interested in racing anyway).
My club (Liverpool Mercury CC) covers us third party on club runs and other events.

Ah didn't now cycling clubs can have coverage for club runs and events, that's very interesting will have to compare that with Wolverhampton Wheelers of which I am a member. Thanks for that spaceflightorange.

swinton and it was under £100 and covers £1500 for bikes Would be right to assume that's for the year? And covers theft and accidents but on the road, home and workplace?
