Dave - if you ever decide to do the london/south East ones let me know as there's a couple to be bagged in riding distance from my house.

Joined this a little while ago since I was bought the book for xmas. I've got a plan to bag a few this summer. I am lucky to live in riding distance of quite a few, between Yorkshire and the midlands. Ive already done 3, just in normal riding about and im doing #30 monsal head and #37 sparrowpit tomorrow =). I've been itching to do winnats and swiss hill, but been holding myself back to enjoy them with new tyres, which should hopefully arrive by wednesday. good weather for the weekend pls.

I rode up there last year, don't think you'll be going too fast on the way up to have any problems

Next on my list is 3 from the second book. Coldharbour Lane Barhatch Lane Combe Lane I have a 43 km route sorted already. Then next on the list, BH Monday? is 3/4/5 near Reading. Combe Gibbet Dragon Hill Road Streatley Hill 111km route sorted, plus perhaps Whiteleaf Kingston Hill on their own 20km roundtrip. Keep this up and I might have to get out of the SE and do some 'proper' hills. This one has all the climbs from both books. The guy is adding the second hundred climbs to both Strava and Veloviewer. I'll be planning rides in each area to include both if they can be done together. 200 Greatest Climbsbtw this link is missing at least 1 climb - Leith Hill, Surrey

It's not a precise categorical deal any of this really, we did Cheddar weekend before last and that's a doddle compared to Ebor Gorge on the same loop, the latter isn't listed at all. Frocester near here made it into the second book, it's tough but there's tougher max gradients within the same ride radius.

I'm sure that most of the SE ones are probably all easier than many in other parts of the country that don't make either book too. Noticed there is a Belgian version available, and there is a TdF version available for preorder on amazon. Probably should wait until closwer to my birthday before buying them, or at least start giving out hints to the missus.

I've done Leith Hill a few times as I'm not too far away. Haven't yet combined it with Coldharbour Lane, which is something I'll have to have a go at soon. www.strava.com/activities/117192371I know Barhatch Lane, but not attempted it yet. I've usually done the climb between Ewhurst and Shere when coming from that direction. www.strava.com/activities/113728472Strava links to my rides if you're interested.
