There are some really fancy (and expensive!) waterproof jackets out there. Was looking at a nice example today for £45 with Mrs RL while we were out on a shopping mission today (not cycling related shopping unfortunately) Did a bit of surfing and the usual expensive gear turned up. I then had a quick look on Decathlon and found this; £24.99 Just what I was looking for at a reasonable price. Not much in the way of detail about the item on the site. Could it be a boil in the bag sweat retaining waterproof or could it be a good value, relatively breathable item? An even cheaper alternative would be this one, which B'Twin claim to be breathable! Looks thin enough to stow in the rear jersey pocket. Also matches the T3 perfectly too. £16.99

Both likely serve a purpose Red. The bottom one looks like the sort of thing you put on in a downpour - top one looks better for longer use. Both likely be OK on short jaunts, although you might view the top one as something to wear on the trip whereas the bottom one looks a bit like a 3 seasons wind stopper / spray catcher. I've not owned enough cycling kit to be levelled with choices, what I do know is that in days gone by my favourite ski jacket cost a 1/3rd the price of the one I used to wear to the bar for apres ski (ahem, not mentioning names ... cough cough ... IMO WhiteRock outperformed Eider when in use) ; wonder what the commuters use?

Keep an eye on lidl and Aldi. Got mine from lidl plenty of vents and keeps you dry only downside bit on the bulky side for stowage.

Bought the top one when I bought the bike, works great and luminous so you don't get run over!

Thanks for the heads up BA. I've been waiting for the fabled Lidl bike gear sale since I bought my T3! Is it a rush in and snap it up job? No doubt there will be people who scoop the lot then knock it out on Ebay for a higher price. Not happy about that!
