Do it shiney. Just cover your tracks!!! Can get caught though, sold a camera on another forum a few days ago buyer put Β£700 odd in my bank then phones and leaves a message on home phone to say he had transferred the money. Guess who picked up the message.

My OH has no idea. Box and receipt hidden. She is oblivious bless her!!! Or you can just keep the box in plain view with a receipt of the cheapest Btwin wired computer in it. The only fear is "When you die your OH will sell it for the price she thinks you paid for it"!

jdebs how is your garmin 800 going? I ask because out on a ride yesterday mine just died, 6 weeks old, nothing at all could turn it on, tried hooking up to pc and the mains ..... nothing, very disappointed with it tbh , i bought it from amazon for 200 quid, they don't have a replacement so i'll be getting refunded but this will mean that it will cost me more money to buy another as a quick search comes up with all sellers asking a few quid more than what i originally paid plus cost of posting thing back to them

It's been okay touch wood. It did die once on an 80 miler as I was using it to navigate. The route along with all of the others was totally lost. I got mine from go outdoors. It must be over a year old almost. It'll probably die the day after the warranty runs out!

Were you making any use of the navigation stuff baz? One of the main reasons i bought it Gerard was for the navigation, i didn't like the thought of being lost on unknown country roads so planned my route via ride with gps, worked ok most times but did get the odd error saying i was off course when i wasn't, some reviews said that it was not water proof because of the 2 flaps that cover the usb connection and the micro sd card slot and that some had died due to that, it rained once so i put the device in my pocket just to be sure but seems something else has gone wrong with it, not sure whether or not to buy another one.

Curiously Baz, my 800 went funny yesterday (Sunday). I'd just done one of my regular short, hilly rides and because of the wet hadn't turned the Garmin off before I started to clean the bike. So it was about an hour after finishing that I though about the stats (I always stop timing when I finish a ride, so the Garmin had turned off). However, I couldn't get the device to power back on. I know it had charge, but nothing would work. I tried plugging it into the mains, using different cables and plugs - but to no avail. I tried plugging it into the laptop, but still nothing. It's only a couple of months old - brand new from Evans - so I was starting to think about a phone call. I then tried again in the laptop, with yet another cable - kept the power button pressed in... and bingo, back to life. It's been fine since! No idea what the problem was. All my rides are still intact; maybe it didn't like being ignored when I returned from the ride. I'll make sure I switch it off rather than let it linger - maybe it did run out of juice?!
