Just returned from holiday and as you do, read a few books in the sun. One of which was 'Racing through the Dark: The fall and rise of David Millar'
For those with any interest in the dark side of pro cycling, or even just a bloody good read, I can not recommend it enough. Also enjoyed 'The secret Race', but this one is superb.

I've just read the Millar book as well, only Β£1.49 on Kindle so very good value and a great read.

Good to hear such a glowing recommendation. It's definitely on my to read list alongside a few Hunter S Thompson books the OH got me for my birthday, I read Seven Deadly Sins on my holiday and I was that gripped I read it cover to cover in around half a day!

If you only read one cycling book to catch the gist of why we're where we are at now and the zeitgeist of the last decade of cycling, before and leading up to the 'reasoned decision', then this is it.
Almost like a sinister espionage novel in style at times; all a bit Millar-centric but that's fine, because he was in the centre of it. Well written, he's not necessarily portraying himself as the central character, more of an anti hero.
A bit indulgent but if you're a reborn cycling fan you'll lap it up.

I've read quite few cycling books and this definitely my favourite. Is superb. Cav's one is also very good but found wiggins autobiography bit dull in comparison.
