took up cycling again last month to get fit after feeling totally embarrassed playing 5's when a 50 yr old ran me ragged i go a wee 5 mile run every morning before work to wake me up and since i started both cycling and a healthier diet i have noticed a dramatic difference in my general well being and fitness levels when i started it took me 9 minutes to do a mile and my wee run would take me just over 45 minutes and the steep ( to me anyway) road at the end would destroy me that much i had to stop half way for a breather, one month later, 12 lb lighter and the same route is now taking me 28 mins 29 seconds and i can do the road no bother 9 times out of 10, definately wish i had took up cycling again a lot sooner in life.. quite chuffed about it to be honest and feel kind of a saddo posting it too

All of that in just a month? wow!
Don't think I could run 5 miles to save my life. Reducing the run by 15 minutes and losing 12lb is some pretty good going for only one month!
How much cycling have you been doing?

That's great, an inspiration to all...
When I was 15-16 I played club basketball every other day, cycled in between, thinking nothing of 50 miles.
I'm now 40, started playing basketball a few months ago, but the team are all under 30. New bike now and getting back into what I love. Lost a few lbs already just need to carry on to get the stamina up.
