I looked at some shopping vouchers I had stuck behind the clock yesterday, must have prescience because I found that they expire today! I won them in an online competition yonks ago. They are valid at a number of places (Comet being one ) but Halfords is another and I stand a chance of getting there in shop hours. What would you buy for £40?

A dead posh track pump, last a lifetime jobby, with a head that won't pop off at high pressure (like the cheapo one I've got has started doing).

My main problem with halfords is that I always feel that I'm being ripped of. I did consider buying some pedals and then shoving them up someone on Ebay to get money to spend elsewhere, but (for example) some Shimano ones were £36 at halfords and available at £22 anywhere else.
I've just found that the vouchers are usable at Argos, which extends my range somewhat.

Tools, Lights, Cleaning stuff from Halfords. - Maybe new tyres / tubes.
Always look at Halfords website for up to date prices and quote them when you go in store. (the prices change online quick, the stores don't re ticket the shelves).
Let us know any bargains...

Got my Contis from Halfords earlier in the year, bundle of two were cheaper than anywhere if ordered on line (@billyadam spotted it).

I didn't go to Halfords in the end. I found I could use them at Argos too and went there to see if i could buy an Argos gift card to the value. Nope, not allowed. By now I was running out of options (and time, it was 5:20 and they close at 5:30), so I bought a circular saw for £39.99. I'd asked the manager about the gift card idea, which was to buy myself some more time to use the vouchers. He said "you could always buy something and then bring it back unused, and the value will go on a giftcard" I pointed out that it sounded a bit underhand and not up to the usual Slog ethics, but he said it wasn't illegal. Again but who am I to argue? Not decided yet whether I'm keeping the saw or not. I'd also seen a nice portable DVD player but which could only be ordered for collection in store (no time to allow for this). I thought this might be very nice to have where I can watch it from the rollers, what do you reckon?

Nah you want it on the big screen if on rollers feel like your cycling through platoon leaning left and right dodging the grenades!

If you don't find anything you need for your bike and have a console, get Fifa 14 in, it's epic!
