Being in the UK I've always used miles, km doesn't readily mean anything to me until I convert it to miles.

The rules state kilometres but I think that is just to make the numbers look bigger. I rode 100K sounds better than I rode 62 miles. I rode 100 miles sounds better though.

I'm British so it's good old miles for me. KM's do look more impressive as far as a figures are concerned. TBH, I can't imagine km's being the old fool that I am, whereas I can picture a mile as a distance.
Grumpy old man syndrome.
My pal logs all his rides in km's. "Yeah, did 60k today" "Wow well done mate" is my usual reply completely forgetting he's done 37 miles.

I was thinking of trying to go KM as it's the cycling standard Rule #24 but I seem to be constantly trying to do the maths back to good old imperial...

Yeah miles for me too - A mile is tangible and means something in my head relative to distance - A km is just a mile plus some.
Similarly if I am out and look at a road sign for my next get to point such as a town its all in miles- my mindset isn't to try converting it into km's

My brain is trained to use the metric system for measuring. So it's Km for me!

Miles and MPH for me, we will find after a certain age it will be miles and MPH, and before wherever the cutoff was will be KPH and Kilometers, personally i think its just confirming to the EU way, im British not European so no argument for me Lol, but i have nothing against anyone wanting to use metric either.
