I know it's a while away yet but I'm just thinking about where I fancy going to watch the Grand Depart of Le Tour in Yorkshire next year. Maybe some Tribanists fancy making it a 'meet-up day out'? Post your ideas for good places to go and watch. β I think Holme Moss will be jammed, as will the cobble climb through Haworth. Details of the rout are here: letour.yorkshire.com/the-route

Buttertubs Pass - I'm thinking about camping at Tan Hill just a bit further north.

I'm thinking either Otley/Ilkley or Leeds city centre for stage 1 (Otley/Ilkey for the pubs and I can cycle there & get quick train back in twenty minutes *hic*). Although my mate was on about Leeds for the start then hightailing it across to Harrogate for the finish which could be interesting! I'm fortunate in that I can pretty much see the town hall from my balcony so it'd be a short walk to the starting line! Stage 2 I might go somewhere like Hebden Bridge, it'd give my OH the chance to go around the cool boutique shops and I'd have the perfect excuse to see the riders whilst gaining brownie points myself!

I'll be watching them come flying down Halifax Road in Huddersfield. Just a stones throw from my gaff. Reckon it will be busy but should get a good vantage point.
Can't wait!!!

Leeds to Harrogate sounds like a good idea, might be big crowds at each end.

Buttertubs Pass - I'm thinking about camping at Tan Hill just a bit further north. It's coming through Leyburn which is a good vantage point. Butter tubs pass would be fantastic but there's no parking. I live not far from there ! Camping at Tan Hill sounds fun.

I'll be on my pushy so parking won't be a problem. It's 2 quid into the charity bottle on the bar to camp behind Tan Hill. Good beer and cheer guaranteed.

Stunning scenery up there Watch out for the sheep in the bar at Tan Hill they're regulars ?
