All members will have no doubt noticed the changes to this section. I have moved all posts into their own categories to make looking them up easier. The remaining posts do not relate to any category as such and so are left as a general section. Could I ask that any future technical posts and threads are placed in the relevant section to keep things tidy. Many thanks for your co-operation. Red.

Great job Big Brother, should make it even easier for people to find things. Trying to do the same in the 'talk' thread would be like herding cats I suspect!

This is great. Much easier to find what I'm looking for. Cheers.

I like, the sub-forums is a great idea. Thank you for setting them up.

Big Brother, is there anyway that the 'new' indicator can appear on sub-thread titles, just so you can easily see if something has been updated? I found it handy, but if it can't be done, no worries!

Just so you know, as a non-registered guest I could no longer see anything in the sub-forums for some reason, which has forced me to register!

I know, although at this stage (new to road cycling) I'm more of a consumer than a contributor!

I've given this a few weeks rather than make a quick judgement, and I can see a problem with the new sub-forums.
I realise that it makes them easy for people to look up their particular interest at the time and hopefully find an answer, but I'm afraid that it might stifle new answers.
Before I would look at the top few posts of 'technical' and if there was anything I thought I could put my 2p worth into, I would, but I'm afraid to say that I don't have the time to open every single sub and see, so now I rarely bother to open any. I've noticed that if I do, it's to find that after the first thread the rest have had no input for days. There's only a certain amount that people will look at, mine used to be 'Triban Talk' and 'Triban technical', and I doubt that I'm alone in how I view the forum.

Kind of have to reluctantly agree with captslog after a few weeks use... whilst arranged far more intuitively for those who have something in mind that they are looking for, and which is a great improvement for that, I'm a different kind of browser, generally speaking, in that I tend not to have something specific in mind and just basically browse. I like coming across something random from time to time. But I guess it's one system or the other...

I have to agree with the above, don't tend to bother as much in this section as you can't really just browse anymore.

Best of both worlds would be the sub forums for finding old stuff and everything together for browsing/contributions of newer posts but I imagine this isn't practical or possible? For example keep the posts in the main section whilst active then archive in the sub forums.

There are the new thread and the new post buttons which could help you guys cut to the new stuff. Works for me.
