90% in the drops. Only on painful climbs, through traffic and 'last mile home' modes am I on the hoods.
Admittedly it took a week or so to get used to it again after years on MTB.

I have started to use the drops more and more.I found that on a longer uphill gradient that I climb better on the drops for some reason, but am also finding I am climbing a lot out of the saddle also.I think I am having a cycling identity crisis

70-30 in favour of the drops. Agree with what @perniciousviper said why have a road bike if you're not gonna use 'em. Practice makes perfect.

Cheers Egg. Was beginning to think I was a freak there for a while You ain't the only one! I am 80% on the drops and 15% on the hoods and the last 5% only on the last mile home or serious hill climbing. And I count myself an old timer!!! So you are in good company! Now I understand why Rossa was questioning me about my riding position sometime ago. Everyone else was on the flat handle bars or hoods and I was very comfortable on my drops. Most my time is spent on the nose of my saddle.

So you always on the hoods yet been riding MTB before? I would have thought you would find the hoods too high? I did when I went over to road bikes.

Hi. You can call me mate. I'm a bloke, but on my tablet I only had a few pictures to choose from for my avatar. So an old picture of Pamela Anderson it was. Yeah mostly on the hoods. I will start to use the drops more I think. It's just that after a few minutes, the back of my legs get quite uncomfortable. Either they will get used to it, or I just need to toughen up a bit. Maybe i'm a bit of a girl afterall. Ps just ordered new tyres, wheels and bottle cage. So when I have it all done, i'll change my avatar to a picture of my finished bike. Well, almost finished.

Was bored today due to nasty weather so gave the T3 some TLC.
Decided out of curiosity to flip the stem and drop the bars slightly. This should enable me to get more use out of the drops on future rides as well as hopefully providing a more comfortable riding position when on the hoods. It certainly felt better and the brake levers were easily grabbable.
The proof of the pudding will be on my next ride. Won't be tomorrow as the weather looks as bad as todays and I don't fancy 40+ mph headwinds on my uphill homeward commute. Wimp? No just sensible...... well that's what I'm thinking!!!

Using the drops almost 100% on my 5a. They seem a bit longer than other bars I've used so very easy to get a comfortable position on.

Spend most of my tine on the hoods. Use the drops on downhill sections and in windy conditions.

Most of the time on the hoods. Have started to use the drops when going for a 10.7 mile segment on strava. Must said after doing 10.7 miles on the drops, then going onto the hoods it feel like I'm riding a chopper bicycle.

I'm definitely a hoods man 90% of the time - biggest problem I find is brakes and shifters on the drops are just too much of a reach, especially as I have the hoods/bars tilted slightly upwards for general comfort? I have thought about moving the shifter leavers higher up on the bars and rotating the bars back to their 'stock' position to get a more comfortable 'on the drops' riding position, but I think this may be due to the shape of the bars rather than the tilt. I'm pleased to see plenty of other middle-aged, midriff swell on the site, makes me realise I'm not the only one who looks slightly questionable in tight jerseys!!
