Could someone tell me what clincher tyres are please? And do the stock wheels on the red tryban 3 require them? I've never heard of them. If compatable, I'm going to put a pair of vittoria rubino pros on tomorrow. Thanks in advance..

Clincher tyres are just 'normal' tyres and are so called because they clinch the inside edge of the wheel rim. Vittoria Rubino Pros are great tyres - I use them myself.

Clincher tyres are called that as they "clinch" to the rim bead and are generally the most common form of bike tyre. You use them with an inner tube and yeah they're the standard ones that the red triban's wheels require. The other type of tyre is tubeless and you need specialised wheels to use them on. You'll be fine with the Rubino Pros, a good set of tyres by all means.

Great. They are the pro folding version. I think they'll look good.

Great. They are the pro folding version. I think they'll look good. And only 225 grammes each in the 23mm version.

Thats the size I'm getting. Thanks. Apparently they are good tyres, just not the fastest.

I'll take suppleness and grip over outright speed any day of the week. Anyway, it's the engine that makes a bike fast, not the tyres...............
