After getting some great advise on here concerning upgrades, I've decided to forget the groupset foy a while, and concentrate on wheels, tyres and brake pads (already ordered clarks gold pads) My first stupid question is does a back wheel come with acassette? Or do I use my cassette and attach it to my new wheels? I'm guessing it's the latter, so how do I know which wheels are compatible? Or are all 700 rear wheels compatible. I understand these are probably stupid questions, but I really am new to road bikes, and I've never really upgraded a bike. I've just kept it as standard. Ps it's the red triban 3. Thanks, and keep any insults light lol.

youll need to get another cassette or use your current one, youll find that most wheels have the shimano freewheel as default so with a quick check youll be ok if you are going down that route though, for tangible improvement, you are looking at a budget of 150 ish

Thanks for the link. So if I ordered the black 8, 9, 10 shim, they would definitely be compatible? And using the cassette I have, they can go straight on? And do you think they would make a noticible difference?

And do you think they would make a noticible difference? Definitely compatible, with existing cassette would just fit straight in (need tool to get cassette off old wheel and prehaps minor adjustment to indexing of gears) and yes vast number of people on here have upgraded wheels and say definitely improved. Saying that I've done 1800miles on stock wheels with no issues but will hopefully get some new wheels at xmas

I've got the RS 30's on my T3. A great looking wheel. I opted for the white ones. Set the bike of a treat. Straight cassette swap. No issues. Check out my bike on Your TRIBAN.

@bobdigi88 Dont be worried about asking noob questions, im 100% sure we didn't come into this world knowing everything (well maybe Rad did ) and the only way we know is to ask and then learn from there , Anyway, you will feel a diff with new wheels, in my case they felt stronger/safer and rolled for a lot longer , they look better also! If your getting new wheels then buy some new tyres also, again the new tyres feel that bit safer than stock.

Will do. Does it feal any different to ride? Or just look better? Just my opinion, but mainly they will look nicer. You could get the stock ones rolling nicely too with a little adjustment, and wait until they wear out.

Its the best part of the bike that you can optimize. Because the wheels are elements with high inertia. when more lighter it's less cost acceleration. Good and light tires, are important for this. The weight of the bike or other component is secondary. My recommendation in wheels; Aksium Fulcrum 7, 5 ... For high weight; Rims Open pro and hubs 105! If you have much money to spend a Shamal or Ksyrium Elite.
