Been looking at the Shimano 501 wheel set. Can anyone explain the difference in the three different options: Standard spoke; Bladed spoke; 30mm Bladed?
Cheers

bladed spokes are meant to be more aero, however the bladed and 30mm wheelsets are 100g heavier than the standard set.
Rotational weight can make quite a difference in how quick the bike feels, so bladed might be more aero but the 100g extra probably negates any benefit.
I'd just go for the standard ones personally

Standard spoke - Normal round spokes with aero rim. Bladed spoke - Same rim as standard but with flattened aero spokes. 30mm Bladed - Aero bladed spokes and a taller rim. Stiffer than the other 2 due to the bigger rim but also 100g heavier. I have these and they are a vast improvement over stock wheels. They look good too.

How easy is it to get spare bladed spokes?
