From a couple of posts I have got the impression that Decathlon bikes are beginners road bikes? Is that the general impression. I suppose that begs a question or two. What bike after a t5a would someone get. Would it be T7 or and FC. Or would it be a branded bike?? Just a Sunday ponder

Was speaking to zoltansocrates about this only yesterday. There's really nothing else in the B' Twin range that blows my dress up, so I reckon I'll use my 5A for the next year or two and then potentially move up to a Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0 Sex on wheels!!!

the top of the range btwin looks the biz but its 3k which ill never spend on a bike unless there is a lottery win but the upper range btwins, the facets, should not be regarded as entry bikes, they are serious grand tour stage winning frames, great wheel deals and some top end gruppo, sram red, di2 and cosmic carbone sl anyone?
i think its quite rare, certainly in the uk, to be so brand loyal over your bike owning career, like most i want something different next time, not because btwins are bad but because something different is better than replacement of same

I am so pleased with my very reasonably priced T5a. In a year I can buy it off the cycle scheme and make some choices on sell it or keep it. But I do know I will be out there and looking closer at the offerings as I will know what I want more than I did this time. Got to say I am very pleased I have that 30 ring on my T5. Saved me again tonight. I forgot a particular hill was nearly a mile long! A long way for my inexperienced legs! www.strava.com/activities/77479281

Don't know what bike or even which brand I will wan't to go for but I think I'd probably look into getting a carbon frame. Depends how my cycling had progressed, if I am still just cycling for fitness then I'll probably be looking at something different than if I have gotten into racing.
Only just got the T5A so hopefuly (well, girlfriend hopes) it will be a few years before I need(want) another bike.
