Has anyone on here done it?
How hard is the ride and are there many uphill sections.
Thinking about doing the 47 mile challenge ride

Haven't done it myself, but a mate of my wife's did it last year and vowed never again. She had a wait of over an hour to even get to the start line and she saw quite a few bad crashes due to overcrowded cycle paths and poor cycle etiquette. I had seriously thought about doing it this year, but she's put me off. If you're thinking about doing that kind of distance, I've signed up for the 50 mile Tour Ride sportive the following weekend (Saturday 14th Sept) at Drumlanrig Castle. Hoping that zoltansocrates will also join me on the day, but we've got the Highland Perthshire 50 miler to negotiate on 24th August first!

That seems to be quite common with the large city cycling rides, i was looking into the five bourgh cycle in new york but the reviews are fairly similar to that.
