Thanks cyraxdotnet I'll look into those recommendations. I am sure I am going to hit a puncture eventually so I've been watching some YouTube videos on how to fix / replace inner tube. Tell me then what is a decent pump to have fixed to the bike encase of such repairs? I got myself a bag for under the saddle which I plan to fill with multitool and the tyre levels etc you mention. If you havn't fixed many tubes, I'd recommend you just buy a few spare tubes and carry that in your saddle bag. I personally cannot be asked to find and fix a puncture at the side of the road. I would swap with a new inner tube and then try and repair when you get home. I bought this Airwave pump. Not had to use it at the road side yet thankfully but it looks decent enough and comes with bracket to fit to your bike. If you want to spend more for a better quality one, look at the Lezyne brand.

Good plan, @thunderboltsteve. As I said, I had a look at your bike today with your name on a sheet of paper stapled round the top tube!! They are lovely looking bikes even in basic form. Soooooooo shiny!!!!
