OK, since we have a How Fast Can You Go thread, it is time to look at how Slow Can You Go. Here is my starter for 10:
My friend & I did 11kph down a twisty narrow ridiculously steep hill/lane in the pouring rain in North Yorkshire. I was holding onto the breaks for dear life as the road was wet and slick. The brakes would not stop the bike at all and we had no idea what was around the corner. We soon found out....it was a river ford we had to cross. Got soaked!
Needed a mountain bike, not my T3 for this part of the trip.

Think i managed about 3-4mph on a seriously steep section of a climb. I was going so slow i could have quite easily fallen off!

Slow enough that even at 30/25 cadence was so low I could barely pedal, does walking count? On the up side the 8.8mile route I've done a few times I've just managed to do in just over 38 minutes with no resting, compared to 47mins with 15mins resting on top and walking up the "hills" a few weeks ago.

I was climbing hills at 4-and-a-bit mph when I started. It's usually at least double that on the regular steep ones now. Granny still lends a hand with regularity!

can't believe you can stay upright at 2.9mph! my best is 4.2 on 'the hill' on my first go at it. Improved now to a sweaty 7.5!!

.......... 2.9 mph ........... actually I went to the Mountain bike world champs about three years ago at Fort Bill (if you get the chance it's a brilliant day out). They had 'things to do when you're bored' stalls, and competitions: one of which was a 'how long can you balance' while not moving. They parked a bike on a 4 inch beam, which was about 3 inches longer than the bike. Most people fell off without undue effort, but the competition (prize was a bike) degenerated into almost farce as two guys stayed there for over half an hour each!!!!

Half a second and i'd be happy!

I recently cycled 44 miles at an average of 5.9mph for 7hrs 23 minutes when heading over Iceland's interior.
Apart from that my Triban has an 11-34T cassette so I can go as slow as I want going uphill. The front wheel has lifted off the ground on some occasions.
