What do they do to your bike in it?
I've just replaced the crankset, cassette and rear derailleur with Sora stuff, and so everything could do with a little fettle and tweak. My front derailleur cable is fraying a bit too.
If I took it for said service, are they likley to index it properly, and replace the fraying cable? Bearing in mind I've swapped bits.

I'm gonna take my bike in in the next couple of weeks for its six month service too, as I've got my first ever 50 mile Sportive coming up in mid September and I want to make sure it's running sweetly for that. Like you, I've replaced a few bits and pieces (wheels, cassette & chain) and the indexing could do with a tweak. I'd expect them to do whatever is required, irrespective of the fact that the bike has been changed from stock.

Mine went in to have the back wheel replaced a good while back and as it was about 6 months old they serviced it. At the time i'd not really modified the bike, it was all pretty much standard. I think all they really to do is index gears and tighten cables and bolts etc. Can't imagine they would replace anything such as cables. One of my gears was slipping a little (which i told him about) when he indexed them he couldn't get it spot on and told me the cassette was wearing ( i have since replaced this ).

As most of my bike's moving parts have been replaced or self serviced, I just got Matt at Birmingham to run through the intricacies of the flip lever part of the front brake calliper, as the half moon plate and barrel had become dislocated. All now in order. Few issues I had with gears were self remedied after @robsims spotted the rear derailleur arm had been bent in slightly, most likely when daughter knocked bike over. Caused low gears to slip when climbing, careful bend back sorted it, will likely replace that next.

I will be changing my saddle on the day but that's about it for Whitney.

That's the only store I know that claims to be the Birmingham store.

It's part of the 'Grand Departe' weekend for the Tour of Britain, so we get to ride under the official finish gantry at the end (if I make it that far!!)

yep both of our T3's went in for their 6 month service. mine ended up with loads of new parts including brake cables which were both badly frayed, re-indexed, new BB (decathlon broke it taking it out to regrease at my request, and it needed it apparently - I had been unable to get it out and didn't want to break it!), front wheel hub regreased, rear hub innards replaced and regreased... wheels retrued and various bits adjusted. they won't bat an eye lid over various parts replaced etc, so book it in and tell them any issues you have with it - seemed the best approach was to mention it to the mechanic when you drop it off...

Took my bike into Decca yesterday and got a call this aft to say it was ready to be picked up. Didn't need much doing to it - they replaced the rear gear cable as the end cap had popped off and the cable had started to fray. Apart from that, just a wee tweak to the indexing and a fresh coat of lube on the chain. Was chuffed when the guy said it was a 'lovely bike' when I collected it.

So DelB i'm guessing the bike fit remained intact and no decathlon staff were actually harmed?

I'm pleased to report that all Decathlon Hermiston Gait staff-members left for home unharmed this evening. I told the guy when I dropped the bike off that he shouldn't, under and circumstances, muck about with the angle of the dangle of my bars or touch the height or tilt of the saddle.
