Go to the high street... pay for fuel getting there. Pay to park your car. Dodge street sellers. Browse stuff in the hustle and bustle, find what you want, que up to use stinky changing rooms, your size is not in stock. Re-visit next weekend, your size is in stock, pay over the odds for what you wanted. Return to car, it's now scratched. Following week what you bought is on sale at half price. Half your day is gone on each visit. I have almost exclusively shopped online for years now after the 'high street experience'. Have save thousands, and a lot of time'.
Just bought a bike lock for Β£66 online. Was Β£99 in LBS.
Multi prouduct big retailers like Decathlon and Halfords are probably the future for bike sales. After all, the Tribans are only possible from such a retailer. All my LBS have never been that great. Got a few too.
I flatly refuse to shop in town with Mrs Havoc because of the hassle of it all. I have become less and less tolerant of the great unwashed in Portsmouth . 95% of my buying is done online and the rest is out of town shopping. I went to a large camping store on Sunday the staff in there were some of the worst I have seen for ages , rude to customers and rude to each other . One of the staff takes a phone call from a customer ,puts the phone down then proceeds to tell other members of staff about the muppet who just rang who had dared to ask the question "do you have tents put up in store which I can look at " like it was the most stupid question in the world . I'll stick to click and click ooh look at that click
