After reading posts on here stating that the Triban warranty is only valid if you have had a 6 month service, I contacted Decathlon.
I asked...
I have just read on a forum that there is a free service available for my bike within six months, and that for my warranty to be valid, I'm required to bring it to you for said service. Is this true? I've already elected to replace some parts myself rather than drive all the way to your store (40 miles). So to have to drop off my bike for a service, which was never mentioned when I purchased the bike, to retain and keep the warranty valid, would be particularly annoying.
Their reply was...
The warranty is not dependant on the 6 month service, with the frame having a lifetime warranty and all parts a 2 year warranty. From your email you mentioned changing some of the original parts so these items will not be covered. We apologise you have had such problems, and would like to reiterate that if you do have any issues at all then we can happily have a look at the bike for you, appreciating that it may be a fair distance for you to travel to us.
Hope this helps with the confusion.

I would like to know, if anyone follows this up in store, does the lifetime warranty apply to the red T3 as well? Was the lifetime warranty brought in from 2013 as I bought mine in 2012 and can't recall the lifetime on the frame.
Does the warranty cover the forks?
Good on the 6 month service because I was not told this at the time of purchasing the bike.

Yes this applys to the red T3 I bought a few weeks ago, the white T3 and the T5. I put that I had the red Triban 3 in the the title of the email I sent to them. Also ''Lifetime warranty... BβTWIN guarantees the frame, stem, handlebar and rigid fork for life'' Taken directly off of their website, near the bottom... www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-3-red-road-bike-id_8274036.htmlPersonally, I have printed off the emails, and that webpage and stuck them to my receipt.
