So went in to my local mecca to get a new front derailleur cable fitted. No appointment, no wait, 5 mins done, dusted and indexed under guarantee: thanks Tom Supervisor (handy surname) Anyway, I was receiving compliments from staff and manager on upgrades (Shimano RS10's Schwalbe lugano red stripe,Charge Spoon and Shimano pedals - since you ask); when the manager dropped the bombshell. 'I think we will be making more of these next year' he said . 'It might be a bit more expensive' he continued 'It is a very popular colour in the UK'. He had a french accent so maybe he was in the know.

Apparently there's been a bit of a back lash since they replaced the original with the T3, so I would be surprised to see them bring the original back.

We like Red Triban 3's, Decathlon want to make sales, so it seems a no brainier to sell more Red T3's!! If a future price was £399, it would sell, not as fast as the original. If Decathlon can increase their margin, and improve the specification (better wheels anybody?), everyone could be a winner? £400 is under £6 per week on a Cycle to Work scheme. Another potential success for Decathlon?

Surely that would make sense, the amount of guys on here you see looking for a red t3 because there's none in store should be an indication of how populare they still are. 399 is still a good competitive price and you'd think their popularity is only gonna grow. That's what i reckon anyway!

Much as I love my red t3 if it was 399 I'd go for the t5 if the specs were the same

£399 is pure speculation. Decathlon might reintroduce a red T3 in 2014, the spec would probably be different (Microshift?). Let's hope they are not too greedy on the price (if it happens?), but they want to make sales so hopefully they will not overprice it.

If I was going to make one change to support a higher price, I would change the shifters. These are an expensive upgrade and everything else we change is relatively lower in cost. I can't see wheels being changed as they use them extensively and to be fair, they only need a minor adjustment at the factory to sort the bearing problem.

There is a good chance that I will be off to Lille at the end of August, if I can manage this and get a pass from the family to go to the B-Twin village, perhaps I can ask this and other questions on behalf of the club? I will post a specific thread if I can guarantee that I will go.

from talking to the guys at southampton they said the t3 didn't sell well in Europe so that's why it was dropped but they are bringing a new version out next year after all the enquirers for the t3 since the changed it
