On the other side of this the jerseys are very bright and catch the eye when driving down a road so can it be a safety thing also? Lampre maybe, Sky definitely not.

I wear last years Sky jersey and i also wear Cav's WC jersey and couldn't give a sh!t what people think (i do also have non team jerseys). When you start reading and getting in to this debate it appears it's just the newbies and leisurely cyclists that seem to wear team kit but i was VERY surprised when i did the Great Manc Cycle how many of the FAST guys out at the front wearing Sky. I've also noticed whilst out and about more and more people in team kit. Watching the tour, it seemed like almost everyone had team jerseys or polka dot on. So i say wear what you want, you just might look silly in a polka dot struggling up a hill!

No one got an FDJ pro jersey? Surely the most appropriate for a Triban being made by B'Twin

I don't own any team kit but see it as no different to wearing your United or Liverpool top when playing 5 a side with t He mates. I fancy a Europcar jersey myself. Not a great combo with a red bike though.

On the "odd" occasion I need to take my 5A for a walk, I would feel a bit of a prat if I was in full pro team colours. But that's just my personal opinion, every other opinion is just as valid as mine.

I would choose Movistar. However, all my cycling tops are retro jerseys bought of Ebay, purely because I liked the look of them.

So, I've noticed over the last week or so that a lot of people out cycling seem to be kitted out in pro team jerseys (BMC and Sky are the most popular). What's the general consensus on this? They're obviously great looking jerseys, but for an enthusiast to wear them is it more "all the gear no idea" or more akin to wearing the replica shirt of your favourite football team? Mate i asked the same thing earlier, i'm not sure. I liken it to when i played football, you only got away with white/colourful boots if you were a bit of a player. If you weren't stick to black or get laughed at!

If you want to go down the visibility road then it's got to be the Vini Fantini kit. Quite like that one actually.
