@cyraxdotnet - the NHS. The companies involved pick up some business from some of the staff so they can afford to commit to a few free days. Agree, it's very good and I'm fortunate. Assume they'd do it for any reasonably sized employer or group of smaller employers. Would it be ok if I misquoted you to the Daily Mail?! "NHS wasting millions on bike maintenance for employees. perniciousviper top beneficiary" lol That's a great symbiotic relationship going on there. You guys get bit of free care and safe bikes and they push a few of their products and increase sales.

Yeah, go nuts @cyraxdotnet! A hospital spokesman said healthy employees are productive employees = better for tax dollar...

I've pondered once or twice before, how could the government heavily subside cycling to reap the health benefits almost immediately and for future generations? I guess C2W is along these lines but I could be wrong, it doesn't go far enough in subsiding the costs of a new bike.
Ofcourse it will come from our taxation but surly diverting a few million to get a massive bulk discount from one of the bike manufactures and issuing bikes is better than drugs and operations for obesity related healthcare?

I am gonna get this done, but can I do it sooner, say three months I know nothing about bikes (Feel bad because I work for TISO and have to cover shifts in Alpine Bikes) but when I try and change to the biggest selection on the triple crankset You can have it done at any time up to six months. I had mine done after about 10 weeks as I was doing the London to Brighton ride. At Lakeside, they do services on weekends but you can't book a time. I got there just after opening and it was done straight away. Only had a short amount to time to spend more money!

Well I tried to sort it out but as above, no servicing at the weekends. Pretty poor from Decathlon, especially if the warranty is dependent on it (as I am lead to believe)....... Can anyone confirm this? Has never been mentioned to me before.

I was told that the warranty did depend on it when I rang up at 5 months with a problem with the bike. I was basically asked if I had had the service done, and when I said no, was told that the issue would not be covered. I then had to tactfully point out that both T3's were less than 6 months old and was asked to bring them in that day (a snowy Saturday in Jan/Feb) for a service and for the issue to be looked at.
I spoke with the mechanic and a whole load of additional things were done (free of charge) to my bike including a new BB (the problem I had taken the bike in for was that I could not get the BB out to regrease around due to cycling through deep water). The BB broke when the mechanic tried to remove it for me so was upgraded free of charge. additionally the bike was re-indexed, brake cables replaced, wheel hubs greased, brakes adjusted (and then undone by me at home...) plus a few more bits I can't now remember.

I'll ring up to check then, but I do not understand how they can do this. I did not even know about this free service, and now the warranty is dependant on it. Decathlon said nothing about it.
I do not know what you all recieved but I was given nothing but the receipt, no documentation expalianing this service or the warranty. Already queried the warranty by email with them, asking what is my proof of it. They said the receipt is. I replied that that is not really acceptable, I need documented proof of this as, what if, in 10 years time I turn up with a problem with the frame, and they staff know nothing about the so called lifetime warranty. They never replied to this.
Bit of a rant but I'm getting a bit annoyed with Decathlon and this bike. Bike was not even set up properly in first place. Bottom bracket was a joke. Brakes where crap. Indexing was a mess. The chainwheel is not properly compatible with the other components, hence all the people with chainrub problems. Now aparrently I have to drive 40 miles to the store to get my bike serviced, which it does not need, probably get the seatpost scratched again in their stand, have the indexing messed up, all to keep some mysterious word of mouth warranty valid.
Argghhhh!
