A cyclist around my way has been done for speeding in a 20 mph zone. He was caught by a copper with a hand held radar gun.
Has anyone come across this before? I'd have thought a prosecution would have been a bit dodgy if the radar gun was designed for vehicle use.

Are you sure it's for speeding? I always thought that the speed limit only applied to motor vehicles but cyclists going too fast can be charged with "furious cycling" if going dangerously fast. Surely a speed limit can't be enforceable if a speedo isn't a legal requirement

If its a 20mph zone it's normally a built up or school zone. Maybe dangerous riding. Is a bit crass going at speed if kids or people are about. IMO
