Just wondering if any of you have subscriptions, any recommendations? Are they worth the cash or pointless?

I like Cycling Plus and have only very recently taken out a subscription to it as it was in offer at half price. Occasionally pick up Cycling Active and Cycling Plus, depending on what's in them.

Apart from salivating over stuff you won't be able to afford, they're a good source of info for newbies, in terms of terminology, techniques and reviews.

I still have to ask the much wiser members on here for advice on things, it's one of the great things about here compared to some of the other forums where you're seemingly expected to know everything. As for my preference in magazines - I prefer Cycling Active for info on the budget and affordable gear & Cycling Plus for looking at dream bikes (both have good news & technical sections and knowhow). I've not tried Cyclist, but now someone has mentioned it I'm certainly intrigued!

I noticed that very early on mate, it's the reason i come on here. I've never been into forum's where everyone kinda gives it the arse and puts you down. It's like a little community here it's very refreshing.

Cyclist is only 12 issues old so fairly new to the game. It feels like a premium magazine but only a fiver. Great writing and photography. In terms of gear they do tend to be at the higher end again but isn't that why we read these things?
Good subscription offers and gifts and their digital editions are awesome.
I swear I don't work for them or own shares. It's just really good.

I buy cycling plus and active every month, gives me something to read on the loo!
Both have their plus points, quite different styles of writing, both enjoyable.
Plus does seem to heavily favour the top end of the market, but its nice to dream, that said they had a sub Β£500 shoot out this month and the T5a took the top honours! I was chuffed!

I have a subscription to Cycling Plus. Mrs Red got me the subscription as a pressie. Not a bad mag but as mentioned, it's aimed at the higher level cycle enthusiast. Some hugely expensive bikes reviewed and tested. What a refreshing change to find the sub Β£500 cycle review in this months issue. (T5 came out on top too.)
Cycling active seems more down to earth with the content. At least I could afford some of the items reviewed and tested! They did a cracking review on the original T3 last year.
For the money I'd personally go for Cycling Active. Never seen Cyclist mag. May be worth a nosy though.
