Hi,
My nearest Decathlon store is a good 2 hour round trip and whilst I've chatted to the staff over the phone about frame sizes of a Triban 3, I thought I'd try and get your opinions too.
I'm 6'2" / 188cm. Some say a 60cm frame which is like rocking horse s**t at the moment and others tell me 63cm. I realise that until I sit on the bike I won't actually know but if any other folk out there are a similar size, what frame did you get?

I'm 6'1" and got a 60cm frame. I got a Triban 5a but am sure that they all share pretty much the same geometry. I think a 63 would be too big, but have a sit on one and see how it feels.

I'm 6'2" and ride a 60cm Triban 5a. I didn't try the 63cm as the 5a doesn't come in that size but the one I have feels about right

I'm about 6'1 and I've just recently got a T3A 60cm, which seems to fit just great!

As I understand it, all the Tribans have the same geometry. You could try any model to get the right size. You can then contact any store and see if they can ship to you if the one you want isn't available locally.

i'm about 6' 0.5'" and the 57 is spot on. I would say definitely no more than a 60 for your height. 63 will be way too big imo.

Hi Steve
You haven't said what your inside leg is. I'm a bit under 6'3" and have an inside leg of about 34.5", longer than average for my height. I assumed a 60 frame would be right for me but when I went to Decathlon to collect it the mechanic immediately said the 63 would be a better fit, and he was right. If your inside leg is less than mine then the 60 should be fine. If it's around the same I would suggest a 63 with a shorter stem. Are you legs longer or shorter than average for your height?

Same as me and I'm on a 60, as previously stated.

Hi,
I'm in exactly the same position as you. No stores anywhere near. I'm 6ft 3in with a 33 inside leg maybe 33.5 and I took a punt and ordered a 63 frame. It hasn't arrived yet and now I am really concerned I may have ordered a size too big. Hopefully, I can return it if that's the case under mail order regs. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I guess I'm more concerned about the reach forward rather than the inside leg measurement. I suppose I can always fit a shorter stem if it feels uncomfortable.

I think you'll be fine on the 63 at your height, I'm 6'6" and I have the seatpost almost fully extended (about 20mm from the max on the standard post). The reach might be a stretch for you though, maybe a 100mm (ish) stem instead of the 130mm fitted but you can tweak that easily enough once you have it.

Well guys, here is the update as promised. My lovely Triban 3 arrived today in some lousy packaging. Parcel force guy said it fell out of the box and he had to tape it all up himself. No worries though as it arrived in pristine nick. Wheel spindles felt a bit lumpy so I stripped the cones down and put some lube and fresh grease in there and all nice and smooth now. Had a bit of a mare with the front mech adjustment but got there finally. As for the Frame size, there was nothing to worry about. In fact, the only 63cm measurement I could take was the lower sloping frame tube from head to crank. Don't see the point in stating that size. Compared to my Giant Escape RX2 Hybrid XL frame, it is smaller in every dimension. Happy days. After 2 hours fiddling I took her out round the village and WOW! When you get up from the saddle and give it some welly up a hill (plenty of those to choose from where I live in South Wales) it just takes off. Amazing. The only thing I'm not sure of is the forward reach. I moved the saddle a bit closer and it seems much better. I think I'll run it for a few weeks before deciding if I want a slightly shorter stem. All in all guys, a very good day indeed.
