After various problems with shipping and me ending up with 3 deliveries for 1 bike I have finally came in to an undamaged t3 today. I have made my tweaks and I THINK I've got it right. I've put my tyre pressure up to 100psi. There's an undesirable clicking sound when I go into certain gear combinations and I think that's partly due to cross-chaining but also some alignment issues. I'm going to take it to a LBS in Newcastle for a check over and for them to adjust it to my height and having a proper fitting. I'm around 6'1 and I got the 60, after reading around I had no idea how big it would be, some people swear by a 57, some people say 60, some people say 60+! I'm pleased to say the reach is nice(maybe even a little snug!) and it's not too big. Here's a picture, can you spot anything that I've done wrong in the slight tweaking I did? i.imgur.com/yVxjgSK.jpg

right first things first, nice bike, well played, looks good
that click, are you in the lower front ring or indeed the middle? if so and you are getting the click when your right foot is on the way down so to speak, its most likely your front mech cable hitting the crank arm, have a look and see if its that first b/c you dont want to take it to an lbs and it be that!

Please excuse me for my lack of technical knowledge as I'm very new to all of this. But yeah, I've only been in the lower right on the front mostly, and it's mostly the 'lower'('granny') gears where the click is worst, once I pick up speed and change gears it goes away. I've inspected it and it's because it's hitting off the metal thing that goes around the chain. I think it's hitting due to 'cross chaining'? I'll post some picture of what I mean: i.imgur.com/40obPVT.jpgi.imgur.com/r8KOxsh.jpgi.imgur.com/40obPVT.jpg?1

them cable outers look tight I think it could just be the photo, I've not noticed it before, then again I'd not see how I'd know the implications of such a thing. Thanks for making me aware though

if you are describing it as a click im going to assume its not your chain rubbing on your mech
see the nipple at the termination of the front mech cable, bend it back on itself, then try running your crank on inner front and anything middle to large on the rear, ill bet the click goes
if not at least youve got the easiest diagnosis out of the way

When I turn my pedals I can see the chain hitting off the metal silver bit which is making the noise, I'm a complete novice hence wanting to take it to a LBS, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea now Would it help if I made a short video of it and uploaded it?

bd4sh, congrats on the new bike. Enjoy!
I hadn't noticed before but it looks like the 3a has a curved fork, the red having a straight. I believe curved forks are better for absorbing the road vibrations. Not sure the overall outcome between the red and white with one having the carbon forks.

I was worried about not having the carbon forks and the microshift drivetrain but I think the ride it fairly smooth! There's a few problems with my shifting which I mentioned above but I'm sure I can get them sorted! I've spent all my time on a bike from Halfords/Asda, usually the cheapest one, never serviced or taken care of. They were all so heavy and such hard work, I never realised how effecient and fast I could be on a bike!

Must be a nice change from those other bikes, did you manage to solve the problem? I'm only 10mins north of Newcastle (bedlington/morpeth)so might see you around sometime! Haha.

Yeah it's such a difference, I love it. Ah cool I know that area quite well. I've not sorted anything yet cos I'm a bit of a newbie so have no knowledge on repairs or anything. Trying to figure it all out but only really took it for a ride round Jesmond last night to test it's working properly
