I've added:
Shimano RS501 wheels £82 Continental Gatorskin Tyres £38 Shimano HG51 11-28 cassette £14 Shimano HG70 chain £17 Clarks 55mm CPS240 brake pads £6.50
Total upgrade cost £157.
Then sold the old wheels and tyres for £40.
So the total outlay for what seems a perfect bike to me is £417.
So has this bike with the upgrades been a good buy?
Or would I of been better just buying a popular branded bike like the Specialized Allez, or even the Triban 5??
What would an equivalent bike cost from the big brands?
I dont mind the stock seat (Do not need to worry about it being pinched too I reckon) and pedals, so left them.

I think you have a damned good bike for your outlay!
Just to reinforce that thought, I've got a Triban 5A and bought Mavic Aksium wheels, Vittoria tyres and a Charge Spoon saddle, so for an outlay of less than £600 I reckon it's far superior to a Spesh Allez or any of the other big name manufacturers starter models.

A standard T3 is better value than a Specialized Allez!! Remember, they have to sponsor Alberto Contador etc! ;-) I quite like my watches, and can confirm that most Christopher Ward watches are actually better than a Tag Heuer at a fraction of the cost, pretty much due to them not having to sponsor Brad Pitt or naff Formula one drivers!

I hate my stock seat, changing it for a Prologo Snatch Pro. IMHO its always best to buy the bike for the most money you have. Even so, having a basic frame and building it up is a great "man thing" (should I mention woman thing too?). You must have enjoyed getting all this done to the T3 right?

Yeah, feels like I have a well suited bike. Happy with it.
Have not got the gears set up perfectly yet though, waiting for a stand.
I would be gutted if it got pinched.

Somthing about that bike I'm not keen on.
Maybe it's £70 overpriced compared to the red Triban 3?
Decathlon service and warranty is a lot better too.
