I like what you done with the second photo, keeping a bit of colour. I'd love to know how to do all these things with photos, but I'm a bit useless with Photoshop type programmes etc. Zeb

Here I've mainly used BnW settings, with Brightness and Contrast (imagine playing with a portable TV from the 80s/90s).
Copying colour on top of a tweaked BnW image and erasing off the colour I didn't want with a loose edged brush.
Then playing with transparency and other settings again to blend BnW better with parts of the colour image.
Simples!

Sorry Rads, but to me that is complete gobbledygook, don't have a clue what any of that means. I'm sure if somebody showed me how to do it it would all make sense. I need to go and see my sister, so my teenage niece can show me. She's doing A level Photography and is a whizz with stuff like that. Zeb

I didn't think you'd get it bud' but I tried - the secret is to have the ideas of what you are trying to emphasise and achieve, then get creative in seeking how to achieve it - the getting creative bit is a mix of mind numbingly dull computer skills and not losing yourself in that geeky process, which is easy to do when learning Photoshop.

Ah see, Unfortunatly I'm not at all creative, more of the practical type, getting my hands dirty and the like. Plus I'm still relatively new to using computers. But I'm always willing to learn. Just need that computer lesson now with the clever teenager. Zeb

To be honest there's creativity in every act if you're any good at it, even using a shovel properly and efficiently - Photoshop is more buttons and methodology than it is creative at times - but what it can do simple things like just improve the things that digital cameras do wrong, as well as crop, rotate and frame etc. ; worth dabbling with if you can.

Bike's the wrong colour with apologies to Sir Brad. I wonder what assymetric chain rings would do for my T3?
