Just wondering if any fellow scots know a decent place to go for a bike fit, and if so how much it costs? Cheers xx

The Tri-Centre in Newington in Edinburgh charge £35.00 for a bike-fit, where they essentially give you a couple of drawings of your optimum set-up, or a 'Bike Fit Extra' where they tweak your existing bike to suit you is £50.00. I'm hoping to get in a see them over the weekend or next week, so happy to report here on my findings/feedback. Scroll to the foot of the page on the below link for the full skinny. The Tri Centre

obviously you can get cheaper bike fits BUT they wont address your pedals but to be fair delb has stumbled across what looks extremely reasonable and they do hint that maybe they will address the pedal/cleat arrangement i suppose giving them a try might be a good idea
ive never even hears of the tri centre, a new shop - happy days, mind you i nver seem to venture to that part of town - too near the riots - lol

I was in Sandy Wallace cycles in Inverkeithing before looking at the T7 and they were trying to get me on a Orbea Aqua bike for £750....which included the bike being cusom made to my size...stem, frame and colour choice and maybe a couple other things I cant think of right now. Sounded good but was over my price as I initially wanted to keep the budget to £350 but ended going to £600 for the T7. lol

The bikes do seem to be a bit pricey (but then so is everything compated to a B'Twin) and the one he was suggesting to me was: www.swc.co.uk/prodtype.asp?strParents=275,315&CAT_ID=472&numRecordPosition=1 the Aqua TSR model and this was before I researched anything about shimano sora or tiagra and stuff...but I will point out the conversation I had with the older fella in the shop was second to none, he knew his stuff and was a very keen cyclist himself, he said there was an orbea bike at £650 but the spec for an additional £100 was by far better....didnt know anything then to confirm if he was just pulling a fast one or not. He had his own bikes in the shop...an everyday orbea bike and a full carbon orbea that was light as a feather....could literally lift it with my pinky.....he didnt say price other that its a dear one. haha I actually feel a bit bad for not buying a bike from him as im sure the aftercare service from that shop will be stellar.

Superb mate, i get my bike in two wesks so that would be handy. Seen a view youtube vids and it looks reasonable to give yourself a rough fit but be nice to know if the experts are worth a few bob.
