This is how I did it (Garmin Quest). Garmin connect,Up load from device , Export, tcx , save in down loads . Strava ,up load activity , from file , browse , find tcx file & open . Never mind all that Bandit, post the Strava link! Should be under a link called 'share' or similar, just cut and paste it into a post...

NO it was just up the road & back twice just to get something to up load & play with. Seems to be a bit of difference between info on garmin & what ends up on strava I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks for the input from all .

Thanks for the input from all . I have noticed that if you export from a garmin via file, then upload into any other website or program, there is a loss of distance at the start and end of the journey/ride. I noticed this when I managed my first +100km ride this year (since the dog bite incident) and had actually ridden 100.3km in the day, but it was in the form of 3 separate files, so I had exported them into Mapsource and joined them together as one ride and uploaded the new file into strava - end result 99.9km. I nealy cried! When I looked at the data, the difference was after the export from the garmin site. If you can, try seeing if strava can see your garmin quest directly. Simply connect it to your computer as you did for garminconnect, go to Strava and then try "upload activity", then "from garmin" and install the strava garmin plugin. first time around I then had to repeat the "upload activity" and then "from garmin" for it to detect it, but after you have the strava garmin plugin, you should be fine. That way I have found that my data matches what I ride... I now let my garmin go to sleep on pause rather than saving each 'ride' during the day and then I when I continue my journey, I wake it up and click resume and it simply makes 1 ride for the entire day (showing periods of 0mph) rather than trying to join files together and loosing those all important 400meters...

I haven't had that issue with my 510. I haven't uploaded directly to Strava yet. Go by the Export/import route. Will test this out when I get home.
