I need to obtain some more. My current ones leak and are manky. High5 and Tacx use a rigid plastic nozzle which is not removable for cleaning and basically leak and are difficult to operate in cold weather. They also leak where the lid screws on after a while due to the hard plastic taking a set. SIS use a rubber nozzle which doesn't leak and can be removed for cleaning but the top of the bottle is narrow and difficult to fill. I get round this by preparing my mix in a shaker first. Decathlon bottles look like the way forward as they also have a rubber nozzle and a wider neck. Prices seem to have been jacked up by all suppliers for such a basic item.
Who is using what?

I have been using Elite corsa water bottles for the last 3 years with no problems,They are very flexible/squeezable,dont leak and have soft rubber like nozzles, easy to clean and the top of the bottles are quite wide which makes for easy filling and the good thing is that they come in three sizes, 500,750 and 950ml which i find handy for the summer months as i can carry a 750 and 950 bottle when its hot.I have tried various other bottles but find the nozzles are hard plastic and not as squeeezable. www.elite-it.com/en/products/gb/bottles/racing-bottles/corsa

I tend to use bidons with protective caps after some spray on an agricultural section of the route round the Isle of White left a very unpleasant aftertaste. It's not so easy to drink on the move and occasionally the caps come loose and give an irritating rattle, but that's rare. Decathlon do several with soft (removable?) nozzles like the one I have. Mine also has a rubber gasket in the lid to help seal but it's not so effective after months of use. Tends to give a refreshing shower to the top of the chest if I don't screw it down hard enough. Probably high time for replacement...

Interesting you say that. I bought a job lot of 4 black (think they were Lidl) bottles off Ebay for peanuts. They are aesthetically pleasing on the Mach - But they leak as yours do. I'm looking for 'cheap' replacements that combine form and function - Or I might just get out some PTFE in the meantime !

I alternate two black Tracx both with the twisty lock top, cleaned regularly with those denture cleaning tablets. Had them for a few months now and still fresh and going strong.

I currently use a couple of SIS ones bought when on offer to make up the order for free postage buying other stuff on offer from their site. They do wide and narrow neck ones, not noticed a problem filling either of them and I use a bottle brush to clean them in the sink along with other washing up. Must admit I've not tried the current Decathlon ones, but they have a 2 year warranty same as everything we sell so if they do leak you can bring them back Just remembered I have got one of the mtb bottles with the extra lid to keep muck off the nozzle, no problems with leakage so far.

I have had an SIS bottle for ages with no problems despite looking well battered. The top goes through the dishwasher to thoroughly clean it. I also have a large High 5 bottle which is too rigid. Very useful in the camper tho.

I mostly have the SIS ones, they are way better than the High 5s generally. I keep thinking I should just chuck the high5's I have about 5, and rarely use them - they go manky really quick and that nozzle is uncleanable.

I may have to start using my SiS one. Currently switch between the one I got with my Elite turbo and a free green Team Sky one I got on a Sky Ride. They do the job but can leak. Got an SiS one recently with one of their free bundle offers, so think I'll dig it out after holiday. Could do with one that doesn't leak for work too

Most the decals have worn off now especially in the elite one.

While we were cycling on Majorca we bought 4 750ml bottles from Pro Cycle Hire. They have removable rubber nozzles and don't leak. On returning home and washing them I noticed the markings on the bottom were the same as the Btwin ones from Decathlon and indeed the screw on lids are interchangeable.

I recently bought a camelbak podium. Yes it's overpriced, but the first bottle I've actually been happy with. Tell us all about your Majorca trip Rocket
