I'm wanting to do a few more competitions and definitely some time trials. I only did 4 hill climbs this year but I did do 16 sportives. I also want to be in front of a few riders I use as benchmarks.

Break 24 mins (hopefully 23.30) for a 10m TT Break 1hr 7 (maybe 5) for 25m Enjoy myself! So far each year I've increased my annual mileage - last year was 4002mile, this year on course for around 4250/4300 so would be nice to get at least that amount again

I've entered La Marmotte Gran Fondo on the 2nd of July so my training will be in preparation for this. Would like to get my weight down as close to 70kg as possible beforehand. Currently at 73 but tend to put on a bit over winter. Never done a sportive before so would be good to find a few to do in spring as preparation. Would like to do 10,000km in 2017 as well.

I've been thinking of trying my hand at this too. Something to tinker with in the evening.

The thing with wheels is that when they go kapputt they might be perfectly repairable but it is not cost effective to pay someone to do it. I find it a bit irritating to throw things away like that.

I've replaced spokes (full set 'rustless' for stainless) and a cracked rim - fairly straightforward, but building from scratch seems expensive compared to factory wheels, except that then replacement parts can be difficult (lucky to get a cheap 2nd hand rim for my nice Giant wheel)
