There was an excellent interview of David Millar by Eddie Mair on this afternoon's Radio 4 PM programme. I haven't been able to find a link to it so far but well worth a listen if you can find it.

Apparently Mark Cavendish has told BBC Sport that he is targeting the yellow jersey in the Tour de France, an Olympic medal and victory in the World Road Championship in 2016!
Has he been on the 'wacky baccy' again??

Has he been on the 'wacky baccy' again?? All more than plausible for a sprinter.

I have absolutely no issue with him setting his goals high, whether he gets them is another matter but if anyone was going to make such a call, then it's a lot more credible coming from him than most.

Has he been on the 'wacky baccy' again?? No, what he said was that he wants to be successful and win throughout the year. He said that there are some big targets at the end of the year. If he wins one he'll be happy but he will try for all three. If he doesn't win any, its not a failure, as they are the hardest things to win in cycling. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/35238632

Ok guys - I have nothing against Cavendish, but I will 'eat my hat' if he achieves ANY of those. I'm quite happy to get the salt and pepper ready though!

If he doesn't set goals, he may as well retire; I for one have huge respect for the fact he's going for it at all - it's a tough world he's in, chasing all those GT riders about on non sprint days for years on end.

I agree 100% and take nothing away from his brilliant past achievements, but I honestly feel that he is now way past his best.
I sincerely hope that I am proved wrong and end up with egg on my face!

Froome signed on until 2018 - good for him but let's hope G can be accommodated also.
