Have plumped for Deda zero 2 stem and some fizik soft touch performance tape. Will get the LBS to fit it when I get my post winter service and strip down. Cheers!

Bar tape - not a major difference in comfort or grippiness from what I had, but looks nicer Stem - why didn't I do this sooner??? The bike fits so much better now. And if you want a bike shop in East London that's the nuts, try hub velo at Clapton pond. Full strip down service for £85. The steed is running smooth!

What length stem did you go for?

A 100. So 30mm shorter which I wasn't initially going to do as I thought the t7 was a 110! Anyway, the difference is great, I was reaching too far on the original and it's much more relaxed now. Only did 30miles today and my back feels good. Going to do a 50miler in the next few weeks to see where I get to.

130mm is very long, I think they must have put it on to make up for not doing a '63cm' in that model but it's probably too long for most that bought the '60cm'. I prefer a shorter reach to be comfortable on the hoods, you can always bend your arms more or go on the drops to get lower when you need to.

Do you know why they never did a 63cm model? I love my t7 but it seems somewhat of a black sheep in the triban family.

They don't seem to make the higher spec Tribans in the largest sizes, presently the 300 and 500se come in a '63cm' but not the 500. The T7 was the last incarnation of the alloy frame with carbon stays which was previously the white T5. This configuration was popular a few years ago, but I suspect with carbon getting cheaper the extra work involved makes it as expensive to produce as a full carbon frame nowadays.
