I'm hoping to be there. I've considered riding to the track, it's about 8 miles away from me, whether I do will depend on how fit I feel on the day and what sort of day I've had at work (There's a big hill in the way ) about the same for me, and this "big hill", im assuming you mean Donington village upto to the airport? Its not that big!!!!

Its not that big!!!! Look, it's big to me ok? Anything that makes stars come in front of my eyes is big. Anyway, I'm putting the bike in the back of the car and driving there. I won't get home in time to have food and ride there. Weather permitting I intend to be there with my two sons. I look forward to saying hello to any Triban members who I see on the night. You're looking out for a thin bald bloke on a Red3. Imagine Mr Clooney on a really off-day, following failed cosmetic surgery and after having his hair chewed by a sheep and you won't go far wrong.

I had a cracking time at Donington last night.
There was a good turnout and a varied selection of bikes; a lady with a basket on the front, little kids and of course the very serious racers. It was bit manic in places, with everyone trying to take the fastest line regardless of their speed or ability, but I didn't see any offs.
I did see a few Tribans and did nod a couple of hellos, but not getting any responses I didn't take it further.
I didn't have time to ride there, and I had to go somewhere else immediately afterwards with Mrs Slog, so I had to drive with the bikes in the car (mine and two sons). I managed 6 laps of the track, the first one was via the shorter track, and managed a top speed of 38mph! This must be the fastest I've ever been on a cycle, it was great to have the confidence of decent surface and no cars.

A couple of photos... Me just about to cross the line for the final time that evening. And a couple of BTwins in the same pic Mrs Slog had the camera for the evening and was gamely clicking away, often of us, but mainly just of anything that took her eye.

Someone ought to tell that guy that his daughter shouldn't be doing a wheelie all the way when attached to his bike!

I had it in my head that the next "Cycle in the park" event was today, but I see I'm mistaken and that it's on Thursday. But this is a quick heads-up for anyone who is interested in going, you now have time to prepare I'm thinking of going, weather permitting.

There's an England match kicking off at 8pm so I hope that means it's going to be quiet at Donington.

Despite giving this a boost, I won't be going this time.
I've been laid low by some prescribed medication I took, and even if going out on the bike didn't kill me this evening, Mrs Slog might feel the need to do so.
Next week perhaps.

I went this evening. Busier than I expected and was only getting more so. There was a fierce headwind during the first quarter of the lap followed by the hill. Just as you were taking deeper breaths for the hill, there was a lovely aroma of bin juice. My only thing that might put me off going again was the number of really small kids. I saw one get up on the kerb and spectacularly fall off. His mum was a good 50m ahead of him. Most the adults there had no spatial awareness and I dread to think what would happen if a kid veered out in front of me. www.strava.com/activities/155550461
