Essential ........... bunch o'flowers for the missus (or whatever). She'll be the one you need to keep on the right side of. Better still, look for another T3!

Could anyone reccomend a cheap but good track pump? I've had my bike a week now and been on three rides, I didn't realise that it was so important to keep them at the right psi. For the Triban 3a what psi should they be? Got THIS one from Argos for Β£19.99 great pump easily get 120psi in mine with it

For the Triban 3a what psi should they be?It depends upon the tyre and your weight. Look on the tyre wall, it will tell you the pressure range, min to max, that you should work within. My son forgot to look at this when he got his new bike and he pumped up the new tyres to the pressures he used before on his old one. He burst the casing of the tyre, fortunately not a catastrophic failure, it came out overnight as a big lump which he found the next day.

Thanks for your advice everyone. I think I am going to take a trip to Argos this weekend and buy the one suggested by RobP.

I've actually just found it for Β£5 cheaper on Merlins Cycles, so I'll order it later on today.

Thanks for all the advice guys, some really handy stuff there. The padded cycling shorts were a god send!!
One thing I'm struggling with is that to adjust the seat height I need what looks like a 5 sided allen key. Anyone know where I can get my hands on a set?

I'd recommend you pick up a cycling multitool. Link to some here; www.evanscycles.com/categories/tools-maintenance/tools/f/multi-toolsYou can pop the tool in your pocket when out on the bike to perform basic roadside maintenance if needed. These tools vary in price dependent on the brand you go for and the number of tools. Also tools costing more tend to be made of higher quality metal and are generally lower in weight.

It sounds as if you've got a 'security' clamp, are the wheel spindles the same? They used to come as a set to replace quick release clamps and had a special key included. I've never seen the keys available on their own so if you can't get one from the previous owner it might be a case of grinding down an allen key to fit or drill it out and replace with a standard one.
